Benjamin Moore’s Color of 2020
The paint company Benjamin Moore has chosen their signature color for 2020, and it is called First Light. First Light is a pale, powderpuff pink that evokes a sense of calmness, clarity, inspiration, and beauty. It is a soft shade of pink that certainly makes a statement on its’ own accord, and can easily blend with a variety of other colors, or can stand alone, as well. The color of First Light, marketed by the code name of First Light 2102-70, is a playful, warm, and inviting color, and many property owners may choose to use First Light as a welcomed alternative to the traditional white, ivory, or beige.
First Light is a paint color choice that will work well in many different rooms in the home. From a kitchen, bathroom, sunroom, bedroom, or dining room, First Light can brighten up a room remarkably. First Light will look crisp and clean against white trim areas, or can look warm and cozy with tan or brown shades, too.
First Light is quite the change from Benjamin Moore’s color of 2019, which was a light gray called Metropolitan. Benjamin Moore’s Director of Color Marketing and Development explains the 2020 Color of the Year, by stating, “We selected First Light 2102-70 as our Color of the Year 2020 to represent a new dawn of idealism, design and living. First Light 2102-70 reflects a new definition of the home-a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life: community, comfort, security, self-expression, authenticity and ultimately, optimism”.
