Spring is the perfect time to do a lot of fun, interesting, and productive activities. For example, it is a nice time of year to perform “spring cleaning” around your home. After the winter holiday season has passed and the cooler days of winter are gone, then many people get a burst of energy, as they fish through items around their homes that they no longer need. Spring is also a good time to take inventory of the things that you have, and decide what needs to be discarded, replaced, or repaired. With all of the trees and plants coming to life all around us, it provides for a type of awakening for us to decide what is worth keeping and what needs to be replaced. Spring is also a great time of year to paint, either the interior or the exterior of your home!
One reason why spring is a great time to paint, is because the outdoor temperatures are not too hot, yet. This is great if you are painting outdoors, because it can be pretty miserable painting the exterior of a home when it is 95-100 degrees outside. It is also a great time to paint the interior of your home because the cooler temperatures allow you to leave the windows open, as the paint dries, which allows for the paint to dry quicker and allows the paint fumes to escape the indoor environment.
Another reason why spring is a good time to paint, is because the fresh paint will dry over a longer period of time, then if you paint when it is too warm outside. The slower that the paint dries, the more evenly it will dry, and the more it will penetrate the surface that was painted. The more durable the penetration of the paint, the less often you will need to repaint. Springtime provides for the perfect painting temperatures, because it is not too hot, or not too cold, either.
