Noel Painting 2018 Color Trends
Predictions about trends are easy to make, but it’s essentially an educated guess. About all that can be said with certainty is that the color trends predicted for 2018 aren’t what great-grandpa would have used to paint the barn.
Some of the major paint manufacturers have made their predictions of color trends for 2018, even naming a “color of the year.” While the object is to sell paint, it’s worth remembering that they have generally put a lot of effort into assessing trends. Whatever the colors chosen, they are the kind of quality paints that local firms, such as Noel Painting, will use when they carry out your project of updating your residence interior.
Benjamin Moore has announced their color of the year, Caliente AF 290, a rich, rather subtle color that is a kind of hot pinkish red. Behr Paints sees the color of the year as their “In the Moment” spruce blue, which does have a spruce feel to it, something like the color of trees in the middle distance in a landscape painting of a Northern lake. Sherwin Williams has announced their color of the year, Oceanside SW 6496, a kind of rich greenish blue.
Sherwin Williams has an elaborate scheme of palettes based on three concepts, affinity, connectivity and sincerity. The Affinity palette is blue, brown and fuchsia; the Connectivity palette is orange, blue, green and yellow; and the Sincerity palette is soft blue, green and “sanctuary” pink. Pantone has predicted that the color trend will move from pastels to more intense colors in 2018.
If you are interested in applying 2018 color trends on the interior or exterior of your home, it’s a good idea to consult professional painters like Noel Painting.
